Sources close to Japanese giant Kyosho have told the site Neo Buggy that an updated 'race' version of the MP9 is expected within the next few months. They don't have many details on proposed changes but they believe that the updated car will have threaded shock bodies - as sported by Jared Tebo at the Nitro Challenge in Feb.
The timing is also consistent with Kyosho's product release cycle; the original MP777 was released July 2004, SP2 released July 2005, and WC team edition Oct 2006 - between 12-15 months per update. The MP9 TKI was on general release Oct 2008, but used by team drivers since July/August, the MP9 Standard edition was released June 2009 - a departure from Kyosho's typical strategy of releasing improved versions. This renders the MP9 TKI version due for an update; coming up to 16 months since official release.
